Confidential, supportive and ready to listen
Whether you are seeking therapy due to a period of crisis or to manage a longer-term issue, therapy can help in gaining an increased sense of well-being and control, and allow for an understanding of the deeper root causes of feelings of distress, anxiety and conflict.
At Willow Tree Counselling Practice, we offer a safe and confidential space in which to explore both your conscious and unconscious processes and how the role of earlier experiences and influences may be impacting on current issues and have contributed to the defences built up to cope with everyday life.
Through the relationship between therapist and client, a thoughtful exploration of life’s challenges and struggles can enable a sense of growth and the idea of moving beyond that feeling of ‘stuckness’ towards a fuller and happier potential.
“a supportive and non-judgemental therapeutic space in which growth, change and healing become possible”
At Willow Tree Counselling Practice we use a psychodynamic approach to therapy, which explores the idea that current issues are influenced by earlier experiences. The relationship between you and your therapist plays a central role in the success of counselling and our therapists offer a confidential and non-judgemental environment in which you can freely reflect and consider any aspect of life or your relationships. The regular and deepening conversations, acknowledgment and sharing of difficult experiences or thoughts within the therapeutic relationship, can lead to a shift in perspectives and feelings, which can allow for new possibilities and ways forward.
Our sessions are client led allowing you to focus on the issues of most relevance to you, and we recognise the importance of working at your pace to keep you feeling safe and in control.
All our therapists are registered members of BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and work to the strict ethical and confidentiality codes and guidelines put forward by the BACP Ethical Framework.
