No matter what your reason for seeking counselling, finding a therapist and embarking on the process of therapy can be a daunting prospect, but it can be the first step towards making the changes you are seeking.
Life can be very fulfilling, but there are times when it can be overwhelming and confusing. Whether this is due to a period of crisis or to a longer-term issue, we can be left wondering how or where we went wrong, or perhaps our ‘old ways of coping’ no longer seem to be working.
At Willow Tree Counselling Practice, we appreciate that the idea of therapy can evoke anxieties about facing painful feelings, situations and emotions, and indeed that sometimes one may not truly understand what it is that is troubling us or causing us to struggle with our lives or relationships.
Therapeutic counselling can help explore deeper root causes of feelings of distress and find new ways to navigate difficult periods in life, open-up new pathways that enable us to face painful feelings and gain a better understanding of ourselves.
The therapeutic process allows for regular and deepening conversations, acknowledgment and sharing of difficult experiences or thoughts within a safe, open-minded, objective and confidential setting. This thoughtful exploration of life’s challenges and struggles can allow a sense of growth and the idea of moving beyond that feeling of ‘stuckness’ towards a fuller and happier potential.

We offer a safe, compassionate, confidential and non-judgemental space in which to explore and process difficult thoughts, feelings and experiences.
